Judge Tom
If the officer received your contact information (name and address) and told you that you would be charged with trespassing, then it’s possible that you will receive a ticket in the mail. However, warnings are often given for these types of offenses when it’s a first contact with law enforcement. Considering you drove home without actually being cited, you may have been lucky this time. If a ticket comes in the mail, it’s often within a few weeks to a month or two after the incident. Good luck. (Check our Resource Directory for more help and resources in your area. This is information only – not legal advice.)
