I live in NJ and I’m 15. There was weed residue in my locker and there was a search and I was caught. They asked me questions and I told them it was mine. I thought that if I told them the truth (it wasn’t mine and I didn’t know whose it was) they wouldn’t believe me and they would think I was lying and I would be in more trouble. We tried going back to tell the truth but it was too late. I was drug tested that day and suspended for 9 days from school but the results never came back and they never will because they messed it up somehow. The prosecutor told us I could be randomly drug tested, put on probation, or forced to go to a class about drugs, they would let us know. Its been over a month and they haven’t gotten back to us. Im tired of waiting I just want to know and move on. Would it make a difference if we called the police department and talked to the prosecutor? What will most likely happen to me? Did they just drop it and is there a time limit to where it doesn’t matter anymore? PLEASE please answer this.
