Ultimately, it’s going to depend on the laws in your state including the compulsory attendance laws. As a minor, your parents are responsible for you and get to make decisions about your upbringing. At the same time, every state requires that kids attend school for so many years. You can click here to find out more about the compulsory attendance laws in your state. Keep in mind that you now have your GED and can get a head start on college including community college if that is the direction you would like to head. Good luck.

Judge Tom is the founder and moderator of AsktheJudge.info. He is a retired juvenile judge and spent 23 years on the bench. He has written several books for lawyers and judges as well as teens and parents including 'Teen Cyberbullying Investigated' (Free Spirit Publishing) and 'Every Vote Matters: the Power of Your Voice, from Student Elections to the Supreme Court' (Free Spirit Publishing).
