Judge Tom
We’re sorry to hear of your difficulties at home. Since CPS has been involved recently, although a closed case now, you can contact them whenever the abuse reoccurs. Ongoing abuse should be brought to the attention of the police or CPS. Generally, minors are required to obey their parents whether they agree or not. That also applies to their religious practices. Once you turn 18, then, as an adult, you can make your own decisions about going to church.
As far as your mother, she can contact local social service agencies for support, counseling and protection if needed. She could start by contacting the CPS caseworker who was assigned to your family’s case and ask for a referenceĀ for help in your area. Good luck.
