My question regards online interaction with minors.
Recently I was on an app called yikyak (an anon chat) which requires users to be at least 18.
I started chatting with a girl and we moved it to another chat app (kik). She said she was ROTC and a freshman in college, (or implied it) and thus I thought at least 18. She sent nudes and I eventually said, “You’re 18 right?” and she got coy and admitted she was 16.
I am freaked out… I never would have chatted with her at all had I known she was 16–not in any way shape or form. I admonished her to stop, deleted her pix and blocked her. I sent her pix, but they were not nudes.
I’m worried this girl is going to get caught, and have her phone seized and all past stuff gone over. I know she’s been chatting with a LOT of guys (it’s caused a row on yikYak and people are upset over being drawn into this garbage).
I had 0 intent here and it just makes me sick to my stomach. What are my odds of getting in trouble here?
