My niece and her boyfriend were secretly exchanging inappropriate photos. A break happened and the boyfriend published my nieces photos online to humiliate her. Needless to say authorities became involved. Her mother asked that my niece receive strict punishment to scare her from ever doing this again. Her phone and the boyfriends phones were confiscated by the police. My niece was put on 3 months probation , I’m pretty sure he was also. When probation was up. He claims he was given back his phone. We are being told my nieces phone was destroyed because it contained child porn. Wouldn’t his phone also? My Question is, are phones and computers etc. containing evidence of child pornography destroyed? They should be. If not, what do they do with them?
