My 15yr old son is currently in Diversion Program in Ohio for criminal mischief and vandalism. He(That means We)had almost completed all dispositions. Online anger management done, written apologies done and working on community service hrs. This past Friday he got caught smoking a marijuana “blunt”(exact quote)@school. Suspended 5 days and of course the school has to report to Police. Police called me next day and they are filing Possesion(small amount)charges. So…I have to call and inform the Court/Diversion Counselor, right? That my son has got has gotten new charges while still in program? Obviously it is the right thing to do in a moral sense, but what about legally? Am I legally obligated to do so? Also since he has gotten charged with a new offense before completion of program, What is going to happen? Should I get an attorney? What do I do?
