Since this is your first offense, you may be offered a diversion program and given the opportunity to avoid a record so long as you complete the terms of the program. This typically requires community service hours, payment of a fine and possibly having to attend a class or counseling. As for your work permit, you’ll have to refer to the rules and policies of the federal government and the issuance of work permits.
