Hi, I’m a high school senior and graduating this year. I worked really hard for that, good attendance, turn in all my work on time, everything I’m supposed to do. But my high school, I think to make their numbers look good, are taking all the students who don’t come to school, who have done little to no work in their subjects and testing them out of all these course. And I’m not talking a missing class here or there. I mean students testing out of 6 to 12 classes a piece, with a study guide that is the key to the test in many cases. Yes literally, the key to the test. I’ve seen it with some of my classmates that are testing. And they are mostly magically passing, classes that they’ve never taken before and sure as heck haven’t finished.
Now I know schools can test kids out of classes they’ve already failed. I looked it up. But there are a lot of rules for how to do that that i Don’t think my school is following to the letter. And there are specific days your allowed to test someone out of a class they haven’t taken or finished and I know my school isn’t following that.
How on earth is this okay? Instead of working all year, I should have been able to test out of everything and graduate early if this is what schools are allowed to do. Me and my friends worked very hard all year to earn our diplomas. This is a slap in the face and I don’t get how this is legal.
