It was around 12:30 AM and i was out walking and I took a shortcut through the Hospital parking lot. One of their cops I assume assigned to the area pulled me over and said “Sir, do you know that you are trespassing?” I simply replied “I’m sorry officer I was not aware this area was off limits, I will leave immediately.” Before I left I was curious why this parking lot was off limits because there was many cars in it, I saw no indication of this being an “employee only” area and there were no signs saying no trespassing or private property, so I asked the officer how I was trespassing and he said “Hospitals are private property” and then asked again for me to leave the area quickly and I complied and left as fast as I could. Basically my question, are Hospitals private property? was I really trespassing and at fault? I walk through this area quite frequently and this is the first time an officer stopped me and told me i was trespassing.
