I have a 10 yr old son. His father and I are not together, but we are both married to other people. I live in CT and he lives in NC. We have a verbal agreement for him to get his son every summer, every other Xmas, and basically any other time he requested. This summer my ex took our son and decided that he was not returning him. I went to the courts and motioned for custody and support because I realized that I cannot get any help without having custody papers even though the child has been living with me since birth. Our trial date is scheduled for December here in CT. My question is can I go and get my child or do I have to wait until the trial?
