Judge Tom
According to the following site, the age of majority in SC is 18. This means that is when a minor becomes an adult and is able to make his/her own decisions (legally speaking). So, if the parents report their child as a runaway and he/she is 17, it’s possible that there may be legal consequences if the police get involved or have some sort of contact with the 17 year old. As for helping another 17 year old runaway, there could be legal consequences depending on the laws in your state. The law against such assistance could be classified as harboring a runaway or another similar offense. You need to refer to the runaway laws in your state. Good luck.
