Hello Judge, I have a situation and need to know if I have a case. I have a 2005 Corolla in which I had a slight fender bender that didn’t cause any mechanical issues. So with the insurance being involved a claim was issued for the minor repairs on the car. I decide to take that money and not only repair the body damage caused the the accident but also give the entire car a make over with an affordable body and paint job. The process estimated 4-5 day in which my vehicle was kept for over 2 weeks. When I received my car I was then notified that the oil light came on a day or so after the vehicle had been dropped off(which I was never notified and the oil was change a week prior) So as I pulling out to leave the premises I heard a noise from the engine moving at only 5 mph, in denial I reversed back 3 times to make sure am not hearing thing. I mentioned it to the Mechanic in which he told me am fine its not thing to be of concern when I bring the vehicle back in 2 weeks they will check it for me. I never made it home, the car stopped in the middle of the road. I lost my engine due to the negligence of the Mechanic because they didn’t following protocol. Should they be responsible for the parts and labor for the vehicle due extensive damages which could have been avoided?
