I over 18, and I was caught shoplifting 3 Item yesterday the total was just under $40.00. when the undercover security asked me to come back into the grocery store I did, I was completely upfront and honest with him. when he asked why I was honest I have been waiting to receive my short/long term disability for the last 5 month and I have not received a single cent since applying for disability. ( recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia) with me not receiving any income im on the verge of declaring bankruptcy. all of my cards had been declined earlier that morning. he contacted the police, when the police man took me out side ( I was not in handcuffs) he gave me a promise to appear and I need to go get my fingerprints done and show up fir a court appearance, my main concern is will I be able to tell the judge why I did it? this is my first offence. the items I took were
1) pregnancy test ( as I am sexually active and with all of the new medication they have me on I was told to take pregnancy test as my period may become irregular.
2) Kleenex – I have been very emotional- very depressed and I needed Kleenex to cry.
3) Band-Aids –

my main concern is what do I need to do now what are my next steps and what is the best coarse of action for me to take.

I really need some ones help
