My mom sent a request to my dad for arbitration per their parenting plan. Does my dad have to agree to go? If he does, can I go with him. This is on issues surrounding me, and my mom has fabricated the truth and spoken for me in the past. I will be 16 later this month and I would like my voice to be heard. My dad is only trying to support me, but in past emails and mediation proceedings my mom says he is manipulating me and speaking for me., and it is usually her word against his. She goes out of her way to keep me out of the legal aspect of things citing children shouldn’t get involved in legal matters, but really I feel she fears if a judfe or arbitrator heard from me they would get a better idea of who she realky is and how she really treats me. My mom makes more money and has a better lawyer so I feel she gets her way in alot of these instances. My dad makes decent money but fighting my mom over the past few tears has put a financial strain on him, and his lawyer will no longer represent him as he can’t continue to pay him. Do people generally not fair well if one party has a good lawyer and the other has no lawyer? My mom says things like my dad will lose and she will make things harder for he and I if I don’t comply with her wishes. She also says that at my age they won’t listen to me or take my wishes into consideration. Is this true? Is there any circumstance where a 16 year old can go and be heard, and request to change parenting time in arbitration set forth by the parents?
