Judge Tom
We’re sorry to hear about your circumstances at home. Click here to read more about the emancipation law in Texas. Emancipation is a difficult status to obtain through the courts as you have to show that you are financially independent, able to pay your own bills and to make mature decisions about all aspects of your life. If your parents are willing to let you live with another relative or even a friend and his/her family, then there shouldn’t be a problem. Perhaps you could try talking to your parents about your plans and desires for you and the baby and reach some sort of agreement. Good luck and stay healthy.
