After my knee was replaced, Nov 14 2008, it was so loose it would either lock or fall out from beneath me without notice.
When I returned to repair it, my surgeon, Dr James Clark was not available with no date of/if return. I was referred to Dr Greg Engle in the same office, Bellevue Bone and Joint, affiliation unknown. After a couple of visits, Dr Engle performed the second operation to reopen the knee and shim, Jun 01 2009. After surgery the pain of my knee was so painful I could not touch it for years.
My knees are required to do my job. I could not do field service at all.
If, I needed to get on the floor, for any reason, I had to get down with one leg and lay on the floor.
I returned to Dr Engle several times to remedy it. Finally, on October 24 2011, he told me “Nothing can be done”.
I didn’t realize he was very ill for some time and might be worried about his own issues. I’m sorry though…
Dr Engle died of lung transplant complications Dec 6 2012.
Not until November 2014, when my wife broke her ankle, did I accidently cross Dr Clark again, the original surgeon, working at the same facility where he and Dr Engle resided, Bellevue Bone and Joint. I told him of the pain, showed him a spot on my knee where it actually looked as though something was poking through from the inside. It was like an ignition switch for pain. He looked at it for just a moment and said, “I can fix that”. So he did, Dec 17 2014. Around April 2015 I could start to squat, and, get down on my knees. Still a little painful but I mostly of still healing.
Summary
During this period of time I was in much pain. The knee was so loose it clunked and would occasionally lock or fall out from beneath me.
I returned several times after the surgery to get this repaired.
I was told by the surgeon Dr Engle “Nothing can be done”.
During this time, from overworking one side of my body, my left hip and knee now need tending.
I have endured a lot of pain and lost a lot income since I could not run field service during my most productive years in my own business.
The equipment in my trade has changed so much in this time. I was not able to morph with the change of this “hands on” industry. It is like I am starting over at 61 years of age.
Should I question Overlake Hospitals Chief of Staff?
I did not look beyond him.
His action was painful and extensive.
I humbly plead the court to extend the Statute of Limitations in this case.
Thank you
