i was stopped at the door from a walmart loss prevention and asked to go to the office,i asked why and got angry because the lady dressed in regular clothes approad me, then a manager came over checked my receipt and i was asked to leave the store, a hour later a police officer called me and said walmart was pressing charges for theft and i need to come in,which i did and was told i did not scan a few things in my cart at self checkout, totaling 166.00 i told the officer the four children of mine were with me and my husband i thought he scanned he thought i scanned ..but i found out that it was not my receipt i offered to pay for the items but the officer said let me call walmart see what they want to do and he wo uls call by fri, the officer called me last night saaying they did want to charge me and i need to come in go to a holding cell someone can come with me and pay 325.00 and i was released 45 mins , however my question is walmart went back on their video and said they found that from 1-22-16 to 3-5-16 that they found additional 481.00in stolen merchandise in multiple transctions so now its 647.16 its says im being charged with theft first degree misdemeanor but my concern is since they went back through video and said there was other times this happened does that mean its now its not my first offense and i wont be offered the deversion? the papers state this; that i was being verbally abusive to the employee and displaying an aggressive,threatening behavior it was 166.00 then found to be 481.00 totaling 647.16 the paper states a misdemeanor of the first, its added as one count correct? i am so imbarrssed i wont even go into a store or even leave my house ,i will always go through a checkout with personal only..i agree i was distracted and if i had three of the same items i scanned one thitem three times as i thought i could do or thought my husband or my children rang it thru..please help me in what i should expect …thank u so much
