My 17 year old was going kayaking over at a friends house. He wasn’t going to take his phone because he didn’t want it damaged. The parent gave my son a waterproof bag they said they use for their own phones. This bag is on a lanyard worn around his neck. While getting out of the Kayak he slipped on the mud and dipped it below the water and when he came up the bag was full of water. Upon further inspection the corners of the bag at the top had holes.
My question is do the parents have any responsibility for the damage to his phone?
He wasn’t bringing it till they offered him this waterproof bag which then gave him the expectation of his phone being safe.
