Hi, I have a question on if my mom can force me to talk if I don’t want to. I have social anxiety and I get panic attacks when pressured into interacting with other people I’m not comfortable with. Resently, I’ve been becoming a quieter person and I would rather sit and listen to family discusstions then take part but this seems to annoy my mom. She thinks I’m giving everyone the silent treament when I try to explain she won’t listen. What I’m asking is, can my mom force me to talk, is there any law protecting me and my choice to be silent. Also, does this apply in class? Can my teacher lower my grade if I don’t partake in group discussions (i go to a private school)?
