It sounds like you’ve been just about as proactive as you possible can be in order to avoid or minimize charges for your son. Keep in mind that if charges are filed, your son may be offered a diversion program and given the opportunity to avoid a record so long as he completes the terms of the program. Since you already have a criminal attorney for your son, continue to talk to him/her to see if there is anything else that can be done. There may be educational classes that address the issue of sexting and all of the possible consequences. Check the category “Classes for teens” under your state in our Teen Help Network link below.
