I’m not a teen, but I am a wife at the age of 25-years old. I accidentally took an item by putting it in my purse because I was messing with my phone in order to check the bank and read and text. I walked out of the store completely forgot about the item in my purse and I was stopped by the security guards and it completely hit me that I still had the item in my purse. I asked to go back and pay for them but the police was on their way. It was only $18 of an item and I put it in my purse where tons of people was watching me. I wasn’t trying to steal it, but the people didn’t want to listen. The police came and watched the video they wrote down my info and told me to report to court. This is my first offence in my whole life and now I’m terrified thinking my whole life is over and I’m going to lose my job. I don’t know what is going to happen to me and I really would like some advice for first time offenders for an adult. I’m scared and been crying since the before and after talking to police.
