Someone that took interest in me volunteered to put my car in the shop . He got the car towed from my house and It turned out the transmission was bad , and to repair it the cost would be 2600. The guy still let the mechanic shop work on the car promising me he was going to pay whatever. I asked him several times can he afford it and he insisted he could don’t worry about it. The shop begin calling me saying the car is finished and they’ve been calling him and he kept saying he was coming to make a payment but didn’t. I have several text messages of him lying saying the mechanic is lying on him and that he did make a payment . He finally did pay 600 , he showed me a receipt and promised to pay whenever he got paid again . That was the first and last payment . Weeks past , he begin saying he know what he doing , the mechanic will eventually go down on the price . The mechanic begin calling me again , staying my friend guy is a liar and that he isn’t dealing with him anymore and is it anyway I could pay on the car because it been finished . I didn’t , I was out of work , so the mechanic said he was sorry but he have to put a lien on the car. The guy continued to lie , even said he could get me a new car . Neither happened I lost my old car , never received any money or a simple apology . Can I sue ?
