UPDATE: I was contacted by the police and I now have to go in to talk with them tomorrow! What is the best thing to do? There is evidence against me, but I am afraid of telling the truth.

Situation: “Caught on Camera” shoplifting a 15 dollar item…as I was getting in my car a security guard told me I was seen on camera putting an item into coat pocket. I denied the incident, told him I left the item in the store and he told me he was going to have to call the police if I didn’t come back in the store. I got in my car and drove home. He also mentioned that he was writing my license plate number down.
