Judge Tom
It’s always best to try to resolve these types of disputes by working out an agreement and understanding with your neighbor rather than going to the police or to court to file a claim. Perhaps you and and the parents could try sitting down once everyone has cooled off and calmly discuss the situation. If they parents realize how disruptive this is to you, maybe they can figure out another way for their kids to play soccer like playing in a different part of the yard, going to the park and other ways to minimize the chance of the ball hitting your property. If they are not willing to work with you, then they could be reminded that any damage caused by their children will need to be paid by them under your state’s parental responsibility laws. You can Google “Georgia parental responsibility laws” for more information specific to the laws in your state. Good luck. (Check our Teen Help Network for more help and resources in your area.
