The following link from the South Carolina State Bar explains the difference between a pardon and getting your record expunged. A pardon does not erase the conviction from your record, so you still need to look into the expungement process if you want your record erased. Judge Tom is the founder and moderator of AsktheJudge.info. He is a retired juvenile judge and spent 23 years on the bench.
