My son was at a friends party. He accidentally fell on his tent and ripped it. The tent is older than 2 years and the fabric is no longer under warranty. I offered to get the tent repaired but the parents want me to buy a brand new tent. I took the tent to a repair place and they told me the fabric is so thin and worn that they cannot guarantee the repair will work as it just might rip apart. The cost of the repair is $75. The parents want my son to pay for a new tent that costs $270. The old tent is worn and had many holes is it to begin with. What am I legally obligated to do? My son is 15.
