My son is in the 5th grade and while this may seem minor to some I am a strong believer that children have rights too. One of the children in his class forgot to turn off his cellphone and it went off in class. The teacher confiscated the phone and put it on a cart she had in her room. Someone took the phone off the cart and she wasn’t sure who had done it so she made all the boys (not the girls) empty their pockets so she could see if one of them had the phone. A friend of the child whose phone had been confiscated had taken off the cart and given it back to the child. I clearly feel that the rights of each of the children who were made to empty their pockets were violated. We live in Maryland. Your thoughts?
