Dear Kallie: Every state has an “age of consent” law which is the legal age limit to consent to sexual acts. It appears to be 16 in Alabama. That being said, these laws were designed to protect minors from being forced, coerced or manipulated into sex with older partners. The father of the baby could face consequences if he’s much older than you and if the police are contacted. Otherwise, you do not need to worry about legal consequences for you.
