Hello,

I am a teacher at Riverglen Junior High School in Boise, Idaho. My colleague and I used one of your activities from the “You Be the Judge” book. Our classes read about Adelina, then I let them choose sentencing and then we compared their choices with what actually happened. At the end of the article, it says that “Adelina is now 16 and remains in jail…” My students are really curious about what happened to Adelina afterwards. Did she leave jail at 18 and stay clean of drugs, or did she end up in jail again as an adult? You probably don’t follow up on all of your cases, but I figured I’d send this question to you just in case you knew. My students are really curious. Thanks for the great book! My students are doing a unit on the juvenile justice system and they have really enjoyed hearing real cases. Thanks!
