I’m in the age rage of 21-23 years old and I was cought shoplifting at Walmart. It was $24 without tax I believe and it was also my first time shoplifting. No police were involved and they did took my info from my I.d and when I ask if this was going to go on my record they said that it was only for walmart but if I do it again the police will get involved. I signed a form that states I will not go to the store untill 6 months and they said I will receive a letter say what to do and how much I need to pay. What I want to know if this will go on my record if I do go to court and if I don’t if I can get a job in retail. I regret my decision very much and I really don’t know what to do. I haven’t even told my mom yet. Do I need a lawyer and if I go to court do I plead guilty or not. Dose this come up on background checks. To tell you the truth I don’t even know why I did it. Please help me in the best way that you can. I feel like my heart can’t stop beating so hard out of how scared I am. I keep praying for help.
