My son was accused of being inappropriate with his half sister when he was 10. We were notified when he was 12, we took him to the police station for an interview at that time. He denied all charges and answered their questions.
He is now 16. I received a phone call today that he was to report to the juvenile probation center and that the DA is looking over the case. I am not sure what our recourse is.
Why are we to take him to the probation center if he hasn’t been charged?
They will not tell us what inappropriate behavior allegedly transpired.
If they decide that they believe he has done this thing (when he was 10) will he have to register as a sex offender even thought he has no record or offense before or since?
Is there a way to move the probation meetings/issues to our current county, we live hundreds of miles away and he will be missing school?

Thank you,

L
