I am currently in school for cosmetology, recently my friend got her phone taken away for having it out. after taking it the instructor went in the back and proceeded to go through her phone and read our private group chat. in which we talk about our problems and school and suspended one student for “cyber bulling” of a staff member that we all were ranting about. I was told the legal the school can take your phone for disobeying the no cell phone rule but can’t go through it with out a warrant or written permission, Is this a violation of my right to privacy?
