Yes, you could certainly be facing criminal responsibility if you end up chatting , sexting, etc. with a minor online. You can check out this link about the various sexting charges in each state, but you would also need to look at your state’s sex offenses for engaging in any sort of sexual conduct (via online) with a minor.
