I live on the outskirts of Huntsville al. Our landlord was selling this place to the people that lived here before we did but did them wrong. But Me and my husband along with our two kids is renting his step brothers(landlord) trailer and they had a rental agreement of $350 a month. $175 bi- weekly. We payed the first month then the landlord changed the rental agreement to $200 first two weeks and $150 the next two weeks. My husband and his step brother(landlord) agreed that he would help my husband out if he was having a hard week and and couldn’t pay all the rent the landlord would work with him because we have our two kids. . So the second month comes and my husband couldn’t pay the rent and the landlord was ok with it due to the fact he lost his job but was in the process of getting a new one. He did pay $170 toward the 200 on 8-5-2016 he only owed $30.00. On 8-12-2016 my husband payed $180.00 because of rent due $150 and the $30.00 added making it $180 he payed. My husband handed landlord a receipt of what he he payed that week because my husband didn’t like that the landlord did not provide any recipets of anything and that made the landlord mad and he acted like he wanted to fight my husband. We said we was gonna call the law and he left. Later that day he brought a handwritten letter over and stuck it in the door sayin that we have 7 days to get out or he was gonna call Dhr and human resources and the police department bc of lack of payment and drug abuse. Which there is no drug abuse at all. And we had payed the total amount of rent that month of $350.he still claimed we owe $30.00. He printed a 7 day eviction of pay or quit off the internet and came over and was filling it out on the hood of his truck when my husband went out there to talk to him. He signed with his own hand writtin a name Jim B. White as the motorized signature. He handed it to my husband and the paper now says we owe $35.00. It had changed. My husband took the paper and the landlord told my husband here is your notice if you don’t leave all your stuff is mine. And the landlord has came over four times beatin on the door scaring my little girl so bad where she runs and hides. The landlord had ensured that the residence was in habitable living condition. When we moved in We have no appliances, have to walk on ply wood floors, and there is live wire showing in the kitchen under the breaker box, beside the cabinets, in the hall way, and on the back porch. We had to go two weeks without water bc there was a water leak behind the shower wall and my husband had told the landlord all the problems and he told my husband you fix it I have no money. My husband had to pay $50.00 to get the water fixed. The landlord did not deduct anything from rent. What should I do judge and how should I take care of this sittuation?
