Recently, I was browsing one of my mom groups on Facebook. A woman mentioned that she was in an open CPS investigation because she has PTSD and had a previous issue. Her children are not staying in her home while the investigation continues. She and her fiance went out to dinner and nobody was in their apartment. When she got home, she received a notice that a CPS worker had entered her home while no one was there and searched it. She says there was no warrant ever issued. I know that, in most cases, even a police officer needs a warrant to enter and search someone’s home. Is it legal for a CPS worker to enter and search the home without consent of the homeowner?
