We were recently at a High School Sports banquet where the coach, who is also a teacher at the school, announced during player recognitions “this player received all A’s in school, until he came into my class, where he received his only B of his high school career”. This play was not my son, but it has bothered me ever since the coach said this and felt it was very inappropriate and over the line. I feel this coach/ teacher has crossed the line announcing this Students grade and embarrassing him in front of a huge crowd- does this violate the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act? Thank you for your guidance.
